George - we won't miss you.
I saw that as of today George Steinbrenner is no longer the boss of the Yankees. The baton has been officially passed to his son Hal. As a Red Sox Fan, I'll miss you. Your antics with your managers and players. You tantrums on and off the field. The "warm, fuzzy" feelings you always had for that "team from Boston". It truly is the end of an era. I know that George's health hasn't been so good that last few years. He did look rather frail at the All-Star Game. As much as Red Sox Nation will probably never "love" Mr. Steinbrenner, I do hope that your retirement is long and joyous.
I was looking at some photos of Hal and George and it would appear that they buy their sunglasses from the same store. Perhaps they go for the family discount and that allows them to use the savings to pay their players higher salaries. It will be interesting to see what happens to the team during the upcoming season. Will there be public scoldings of the team when they are losing? (We can only hope that they do that a lot when they play the Sox this year.) Will there ever be another love/hate relationship with the owner and a manager as there was with George and Billy? We'll miss the comfort of knowing what to expect from the Yankees' ownership. This is one person who hopes that it doesn't become dull. Good luck!

Not to worry about dullness on the Yankees. There's always some drama - on or off the field!

Yes we do bennettm. However, it is smaller then the Yankees and we don't seem to be going around this off season offering players the largest contracts ever! Maybe the Yankees need to learn that money can't buy a World Series.
