We'll Miss You Coco!
I'm sure you've all heard that Coco Crisp was traded from the Red Sox today to the Kansas City Royals for pitcher Ramon Ramirez. There is no question that our bullpen can use the help and that finding good pitchers can be tough. And Coco didn't play "full-time" last year due to the multiple talent that we had in the outfield. So this trade isn't totally surprising and I can understand that with the Royals Coco will probably get more playing time. While we might not miss Coco's "talent" in the outfield or at the plate, I think it is safe to say that we will miss the "class act" that was Coco Crisp.
There were not public tantrums over not playing everygame. Coco was, and is, a team player and he understood that it was in the teams best interest to not play him everyday. But when he was called upon to play he gave it his all; 110%. You just knew that if he was playing he was always giving the team his best whether on the field or a the plate. And when you saw him in the dugout - he was supportive of his team mates and he always seemed to have a smile on his face. His enthusiasm will be missed.
So Coco - best of luck in Kansas City. You will be missed and certainly our games against Tampa Bay next year won't be quite as exciting or "explosive"!

You're right! Coco will be missed when the Red Sox face TB. He certainly made that rivalry exciting. Ramon Ramirez looks like he'll really be an asset to your pen. Good trade, I think, since you have Jacoby in center.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I agree with everything. I hope Coco has great success in KC (except when we play them.)

I'm definitely going to miss everything that you mentioned in this post, Coco was a great guy!
I really like the MLBlogs community, I've only been on here for a month, so I was really surprised that my blog was recognized. Maybe it's because I put 'tags' on it so the people can find it. I really hope that the Sox keep Varitek, and that we can pick up either Burnett or Lowe.
Definitely going to miss Coco though, but he'll get the playing time that he truly deserves over in KC.
